Foreclosures Up Across the Board in November
Foreclosures hit their highest level of the year so far in November, with 120,334 new foreclosure filings reported nationwide during the month, according to the RealtyTrac U.S. The national foreclosure rate of one new foreclosure filing for every 961 households represented a 4 percent increase from the previous month and a 68 percent increase from November 2005. California reported more than Foreclosure Market Report released last week. The report shows increases in all three phases of the foreclosure process — default, auction and bank repossession.

Foreclosures Exceed 100K for Fifth Month
foreclosure activity dropped 9 percent in December, backing down from a November foreclosure total that was the year’s highest. But the 109,652 new foreclosure filings during the month still represented a 35 percent increase from December 2005 and marked the fifth consecutive month with a foreclosure total above 100,000, according to the RealtyTrac U.S. Texas foreclosure activity increased 4 percent, helping the state reclaim the top spot from California U.S. Foreclosure Market Report released today.
