  • Foreclosure Activity Up 7 Percent in March
    Colorados foreclosure rate ranked second highest, followed by Californias foreclosure rate, which leapfrogged into third place thanks to a 36 percent jump in foreclosure activity.     Colorado, Nevada and Georgia posted the nation’s three highest state foreclosure rates despite decreasing foreclosure activity in all three states. Colorado’s foreclosure rate of one new foreclosure filing for every 376 households was nearly three times the national average. Texas foreclosure activity increased 4 percent, helping the state reclaim the top spot from California in terms of total foreclosures.     Colorado came in second with one foreclosure filing for every 314 households. California reported 30,505 foreclosure filings during the month, the most of any state and up more than 200 percent from April 2006.   • Foreclosures Don't Back Down in September
    Colorado, Nevada and Michigan posted the highest state foreclosure rates, and California reported the most foreclosure activity of any state in terms of sheer numbers. Foreclosure activity in September didn’t back down much from the jump reported in the previous month, RealtyTrac reported today. RealtyTrac’s monthly foreclosure report shows 112,210 properties entering some stage of foreclosure during September, a decrease of less than 1 percent from August but an increase of more than 63 percent from September 2005.
