5 States = 55% of July Foreclosure Pie
California, Florida, Michigan, Ohio and Georgia together accounted for 55 percent of all U.S. Michigan, Ohio and Georgia all reported more than twice the number of foreclosure filings as they did in July 2006. Foreclosure activity in Ohio was up 12 percent from the previous month, and the states foreclosure rate ranked sixth highest among the states. foreclosure filings in July, according to the RealtyTrac U.S. Foreclosure Market Report released today.

MBA Survey Confirms Q1 Foreclosure Surge
The record-high delinquency rate reported by the MBA in the first quarter indicates that foreclosure activity has not peaked, which is also reflected in the numbers RealtyTrac has reported so far for the second quarter. The total number of properties with foreclosure filings in the RealtyTrac April report was the highest monthly total since RealtyTrac began issuing the report in January 2005. I'll Take Sour Cream and Chives
RealtyTrac’s latest numbers released this morning show that the top five states with the highest number of foreclosure filings in July accounted for 55 percent of all foreclosure filings in the country. (see The five: California, Florida (the hanging chad capital of the western world), Michigan, Ohio and Georgia. Just an FYI: in the upcoming No butter for me. Personally, I like my hot baked potato covered with sour cream and chives.

Stacking Up 2007 Metro Foreclosure Rates
Four Ohio cities were in the top 20: Cleveland at No. Florida accounted for three metro areas in the top 20: Miami at No. Of course if a large number of people do that it could flood the rental market and drive down rental rates. It was the usual suspects topping the 2007 MSA Foreclosure Rate Rankings released by RealtyTrac today.
