As the most recently collected data reported today in RealtyTracs Q2 2006 U.S. Foreclosure Market Report suggests, there is both an upside and a downside to the latest numbers. With the highest foreclosure rates in the nation, Colorado, Georgia and Texas continue to be the most likely places to begin searching for potential foreclosure properties. The number of properties with some sort of foreclosure action against them (default notice, auction notice, bank repossession) has consistently risen for the past eight quarters (see chart). Foreclosure Filings Soar 90 Percent
A growing number of American homeowners across the country are getting foreclosure notices, according to new data released this week by RealtyTrac. Top 10 Foreclosure Total Ranked by the number of foreclosure filings, California topped the list, with 39,659 in May, and Florida was number two, with 21,704, according to RealtyTrac’s report.
