5 States = 55% of July Foreclosure Pie
California, Florida, Michigan, Ohio and Georgia together accounted for 55 percent of all U.S. Californias foreclosure rate of one foreclosure filing for every 333 households slipped from third highest in June to fourth highest in July, behind foreclosure rates in Nevada, Georgia and Michigan. Florida foreclosure activity in July decreased almost 9 percent from the previous month, but the state still reported the second most foreclosure filings and a foreclosure rate of one foreclosure filings in July, according to the RealtyTrac U.S. Foreclosure Market Report released today.

MBA Survey Confirms Q1 Foreclosure Surge
The record-high delinquency rate reported by the MBA in the first quarter indicates that foreclosure activity has not peaked, which is also reflected in the numbers RealtyTrac has reported so far for the second quarter. 1 Million Foreclosures and Counting
Georgia, Michigan, Illinois, Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, New Jersey and Utah also documented foreclosure rates among the nation’s 10 highest in October. California recorded more than 16,000 new foreclosure filings during the month, the most of any state for the second month in a row and more than three times the number reported in October 2005. Foreclosures filings for the year surpassed the 1 million mark in October, when 115,568 foreclosure documents were recorded nationwide, according to the RealtyTrac U.S. Foreclosure Market Report , released today.

Foreclosure Filings Soar 90 Percent
A growing number of American homeowners across the country are getting foreclosure notices, according to new data released this week by RealtyTrac. Top 10 Foreclosure Total Ranked by the number of foreclosure filings, California topped the list, with 39,659 in May, and Florida was number two, with 21,704, according to RealtyTrac’s report. I'll Take Sour Cream and Chives
RealtyTrac’s latest numbers released this morning show that the top five states with the highest number of foreclosure filings in July accounted for 55 percent of all foreclosure filings in the country. (see The five: California, Florida (the hanging chad capital of the western world), Michigan, Ohio and Georgia. Just an FYI: in the upcoming 2008 No butter for me. Personally, I like my hot baked potato covered with sour cream and chives.

FBI: Mortgage Fraud Begets Foreclosure
The correlation is apparent in the report’s list of the top states for mortgage fraud: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Texas, and Utah.
