Michigan Goes Hollywood to Help Homeowners
Rather, it’s more of a “reality” television show. The State of Michigan is hitting the airwaves with a cable television show of its own called “House Michigan” aimed at promoting homeownership and everything that entails. Credit Card and Mortgage Debt Fuels Foreclosure
Among the hardest-hit states were California, Florida, Texas, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio. Rising interest rates have caught many homeowners in a “can’t pay, can’t sell, can’t refinance” vise, in which their ARM payments are outpacing their incomes and their homes have not appreciated enough to help cover the cost of a refinanced mortgage or to allow them to sell and walk away. Debt! No word better describes why millions of Americans are now facing foreclosure.

I'll Take Sour Cream and Chives
The five: California, Florida (the hanging chad capital of the western world), Michigan, Ohio and Georgia. Just an FYI: in the upcoming 2008 presidential election, California will have 55 electoral votes, Florida 27, Michigan 17, Ohio 20 and Georgia 15. However, the CNNMoney.com report does go on to say that Edwards has been an outspoken critic of subprime lenders and vows to help those victims. No butter for me. Personally, I like my hot baked potato covered with sour cream and chives.

Study Forecasts Rising Subprime Foreclosures
The study argues that subprime foreclosures will heavily impact the overall housing market because subprime loans now make up a quarter of all home loans. It warns cities in California, Nevada, New Jersey, New York and Michigan, as well as the greater Washington, D.C. The center offers up proposed solutions to curb increasing foreclosures, including due diligence by lenders before a loan is approved to make sure the borrower A new study released yesterday by the Center for Responsible Lending projects that one out of five subprime mortgages originated in the past two years will end in foreclosure, costing homeowners as much as $164 billion. “This rate is nearly double the projected rate of subprime loans made in 2002, and it exceeds the worst foreclosure experience in the modern mortgage market, which occurred during the “Oil Patch” disaster of the 1980s.

BK' Doesn't Stand for Burger King
And for struggling homeowners it often represents what they think is the last stand they can take before losing their home to foreclosure. The latest figures ratify trends that began last year, depicting households under growing stress from heavy consumer debts, now in homes they can’t afford and can’t sell,” said ABI Executive Director Samuel J. Of ABI’s top 10 states with the highest per capita filing rate for 2007, four of them — Georgia, The only kind of whopper a person with this kind of ‘BK’ is going to get is a whopper of a headache. In this, the legal sense for the abbreviation,
