Motor City Tops MSA Foreclosure List in Q3
After two straight quarters when Indianapolis, Atlanta and Dallas led the nation in foreclosure rate, Detroit took over the top spot on the RealtyTrac Q3 2006 U.S. Miami, Dallas, Indianapolis, Ft. Worth, Atlanta, Las Vegas and Memphis rounded out the top 10. As if it wasn’t bad enough that the local economy has been steadily losing jobs in the automotive sector, Detroit reported the highest foreclosure rate of the top 100 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) in the country for the third quarter of 2006 as well. California Tops PMI's Risk Index
The Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville, CA, metro area topped the list with a score of 604 (a 60.4 Of the top 50, all but four metro areas — Detroit and Warren, MI; Cleveland, OH; and Indianapolis, IN — saw employment growth. Despite declining foreclosure numbers in each and every quarter throughout 2006, the Indianapolis metro area still registered the third highest foreclosure rate in the nation for all of last year. Seven out of the 10 riskiest housing markets in the nation for home price deflation over the next two years are located in California, according to the Winter 2007 PMI U.S.
