  • Foreclosures Don't Back Down in September
    Colorado, Nevada and Michigan posted the highest state foreclosure rates, and California reported the most foreclosure activity of any state in terms of sheer numbers. Foreclosure activity in September didn’t back down much from the jump reported in the previous month, RealtyTrac reported today. RealtyTrac’s monthly foreclosure report shows 112,210 properties entering some stage of foreclosure during September, a decrease of less than 1 percent from August but an increase of more than 63 percent from September 2005.

    A growing number of American homeowners across the country are getting foreclosure notices, according to new data released this week by RealtyTrac.
